The only version I've heard is from So Many Roads...and wasn't that a rehearsal without Bobby? I thought it was a good vehicle for Garcia, just not in a Stadium style venue...it just seemed kind of bittersweet to me on the album...I guess after seeing what all went down it kind of made me feel a little smaller...make sense?

maybe i just need to give it another shot because i just never "got" the tune at all - and believe me i tried. again, i know i am in a serious minority here (and that is ok) - but i just think it is a very very weak song

Hi sir: I'm kind of surprised you dont like this tune. But like it or not, it cannot be called either "cheesy" or "melodramatic." If anything, it is sincere.

sir???? are you sure you responded to the right post - lol.

i agree that it may indeed be sincere - but the lyrics do seem to be somewhat melodramatic to my mind. i dont think it is particularly well written either - i much prefer the lyrical structure of lazy river road, through granted the meaning is not intended to be as deep.

I concur - yawn. Never did it for me. I agree with someone the other week that talked about Hunter's "muse" abandoning him at a certain point. Sorry.

As my mother likes to say, "To each their own said the lady as she kissed the pig."
